Compensation (General)

An employee's pay or compensation is related to his or her position, grade or level, and geographic location.

Work schedules and hours may provide the employee additional pay entitlements. Employees receive additional pay for overtime work, and night, Sunday or holiday work, and standby duty.

Information on grade and pay retention is set forth in 5 CFR Part 536.

Information on pay administration is set forth in 5 CFR Parts 550 and 551.

Information on incentives, allowances and differentials is set forth in 5 CFR 575, 591, and 595.
